Pomododo

A simple todo list,
with a timer.

Pomododo — pronounced “pomo-doo-doo”. Pomodoro plus todo, with a smidge of humor.

Pick a task. Start the timer. Get a cute little noise when it’s done. Mark it finished, or buy yourself a few more minutes.

Pomododo macOS application window showing the timer interface with make coffee task selected. A large circular blue progress indicator displays 1 minute remaining, with a green Done button below. The task list shows six pending tasks: eat cheese 2 minutes, make coffee 1 minute with pause button active, Check on server status 3 minutes, Call my Mom 10 minutes, Clean up that sticky mess 21 minutes, Take out trash 5 minutes, and Review Erics pork smoothie recipe 2 minutes. Each task has a play button to start it. An Add a task field appears at the bottom. The interface has a clean, focused design with a calm and productive tone.

Stays out of the way

No accounts. No tracking. No internet required. Just a timer and a list.

Why did you make this?

Hi, I’m Brian. I’m terrible at remembering what I’m supposed to be doing, and even worse at guessing how long it should take. Maybe you’re a little like that too?

So I built Pomododo to help me out. Each todo is a line with a label and a chunk of time. Start the task, the timer runs, and when it’s done you get a cute little noise. Mark it finished, or tack on a few more minutes — whichever is closer to the truth.

The app tries to stay out of your way. Your tasks live in a plain text file. Edit them in the built-in editor — which understands just enough markdown to be readable (italic, bold, code, and links) — or open the file in your favorite IDE. Either way, the list is yours.

I hope you find it useful.

Three Pomododo application windows displayed over a snowy forest landscape. The left window shows the main timer interface with make coffee task selected, displaying a blue circular progress indicator showing time remaining, with buttons for Do later, plus 2, plus 5, and Done below. A list of pending tasks appears underneath. The middle window shows the Edit Tasks interface with a text editor containing multiple tasks with time durations and markdown formatting including bold, italic, and links. The right window displays Pomododo Settings with toggles for showing the active task name in the menu bar and playing a sound when the timer completes. The overall tone is calm and focused.
